Moments after posting my last blog post I get an email from West Lancs about a single storey rear extension that has just been approved today!. I have never received a decision notice by email before, never mind on the actual date of decision! Well done West Lancashire! (my home Local Authority)
Swift Building Design got planning approval this week for substantial two storey extnsions to a house in Penwortham. The job was for a builder who will be building the extensions himself.
Still no news with regard to the submitted application for an agricultural workers dwelling in Longton. This application is expected to be a little tricky as it is in the Green Belt and also a flood risk area on the Ribble flood plain. So far the feeling is positive as the plans submitted, together with a Design and Access statment, addressed all the potential challenges to the scheme. Wait and see with this one!
Friday saw another job for a major residential developer come in to Swift's big sister PWL Architects and another measure for Swift.
Swift Building Design's, bigger, older, sister PWL Architects Ltd has picked up two jobs this week from two big residential developers. These are the first to jobs in nearly two years for any of the 'big boys' and potentialy shows the beginnings of recovery in the industry. Miller Regeneration have asked PWL to assist them on a project in the North West and Bovis Homes have also called upon PWL Architects help in designing some DDA friendly house types.
Let's hope this is the first of many new opportunities for Swift Building Design's big sister!
